I’m lying in bed waiting to fall asleep, and I am sweating like crazy. That’s not fun. What is fun is that it’s the weekend, finally, even though I do have to work a little. Plus it’s malaria day, which means I take my malaria pill, which means when I finally do fall asleep it’s going to be pretty crazy. Last night I saw a ridiculously intricate musical, beautifully choreographed and sung, about everything that’s happened since I got here and that is going to happen over the next two years; it starred all of the people I have met so far and all of the people I am going to meet. It was very personal, the whole production was directed at me. So it pretty much blew my mind. They timed the show to end at sunset and the grounds of the concert hall had this kind of ancient ruins meets post-apocalyptic industrial theme going on. So there’s that. I shared this hovering balcony with a pcv and we were the only two not in the show.

I have to go into rosso tomorrow, which means I’ll finally get to post these entries and check my mail! And I’m going to get a delicious camel burger for lunch. That’s exciting. Today it was unbelievably hot. It wouldn’t be so bad if I could buy some ice or if I at least had a little cannery (semi permeable pot that keeps water cool through evaporation, I can’t figure out how to spell it) or something. I’m going to have to look into that when I get to my site. Assuming I manage to pass my language test, of course. Inshallah.
I don’t really have a whole lot to say about anything else. There’s only a week left in stage and then it’s off to our permanent sites for two years.
Apparently we’ve got some pretty serious budget problems. Glad I’m not in charge of that.
